The
Virginia Crime Analysis Network (VCAN) is happy to announce the publication of
its newsletter. The newsletter is attached and will be posted to the
VCAN website. This newsletter includes information on success stories,
training opportunities, VCAN board updates and 'tips and tricks'.
In order to
provide VCAN with a useful newsletter, we need to hear from you. Articles of any
length on success stories, best practices, crime analysis technology, regional
analytical efforts, etc are always welcome. We would also like to get 'tips and
tricks' from the VCAN body - websites that you refer to for information on
gangs, an easy way to import data into Excel, how to create a wildcard query in
Access, tips for better geocoding rates in ArcGIS, etc. We also want to publish
upcoming training opportunities throughout the state.
Don't be shy!!!!
Virginia crime analysts are doing great work! Please tell us about it. Alan Ball
and I will be accepting these items via email. We will be soliciting throughout
the summer for the next VCAN newsletter, to be published in August.
